The vision of UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta is to become a pioneer university of development based on the spirit of State Defence in the global era. Based on the university's vision, the Faculty of Agriculture sets its vision, mission, as well as educational goals and objectives to make students as part of a wider community who have academic abilities in developing, applying, and or enriching technology, as well as disseminating and utilising it to improve the welfare of society. 

The development direction of the Faculty of Agriculture is stated in the Strategic Plan 2012-2017 which was updated in the RENSTRA UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta 20152020. In accordance with the motto of UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta; WIDYA MWAT YASA, which means learning to build; Learning to serve the country with a sincere heart, the policy and development direction of the Faculty of Agriculture refers to a new paradigm based on three pillars; economy, accountability, and quality assurance.
