Students of the Master of Agribusiness program, Faculty of Agriculture, UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta (Class of 2024), carried out the Capita Selecta Field Activities on July 3–4, 2025. This mandatory program is designed to broaden students’ understanding of agribusiness practices through discussions, assignments, and industry visits. The 2025 program, held in Malang, East Java, adopted the theme “Current Agribusiness Development: Deepening and Expanding Agribusiness Concepts and Practices.”

The Capita Selecta activities aim to provide students with practical exposure to the dynamics of agribusiness, particularly in relation to current challenges and emerging opportunities. By engaging directly with industry players, students are encouraged to bridge academic theories with real-world applications.

Over the course of two days, students visited and conducted studies at several agribusiness sites in Malang, including:

1. Pawon Ayu – a local culinary enterprise that incorporates innovative agricultural products.
2. CV. Arjuna Flora – a horticultural agribusiness company specializing in ornamental plant cultivation.
3. DD Orchid Nursery – a center dedicated to orchid cultivation and development.
4. Batu Milk Educational Tour (WESB) – an educational initiative showcasing milk production and processing systems.
5. Batu Night Spectacular (BNS) – a tourism destination that highlights the integration of agribusiness with the tourism sector.

Through this program, UPNVY Agribusiness Master’s students are expected to gain broader perspectives on modern agricultural business practices and strengthen their capacity to become innovators in the agribusiness sector. The Faculty also hopes that this experience will serve as a valuable foundation for students to contribute to the advancement of a competitive national agribusiness.
