Faculty of Agriculture’s “Deanate Greets” Event

The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Yogyakarta (UPNVY) held its inaugural Deanate Greets session on Monday, June 23, 2025. The event brought together 25 student leaders from the Faculty’s Student Executive Board (BEM) and various Student Organizations (OK) for an open dialogue with the Deanery.

Hosted in the Master of Agribusiness Seminar Room, the session was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. Budi Widayanto, M.Si, and the Vice Dean for Alumni, Student Affairs, and Partnerships.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Budi Widayanto emphasized that the purpose of the Deanate Greets initiative is to capture student aspirations through their elected representatives in BEM and Student Organizations. “The feedback we receive will serve as valuable input to improve the quality of our services at the Faculty of Agriculture,” he said.

The two-hour forum was met with enthusiastic participation, as evidenced by the wide range of suggestions shared by attendees. Discussions were organized into three main areas: Academics, Finance and Planning, and Student Affairs and Partnerships.

Key academic inputs included improvements to the SPADA e-learning system, curriculum updates, standard operating procedures for thesis supervision, and initiatives for student competency development. Suggestions in finance and planning covered campus security evaluations, facilities, service quality, competition funding, and tuition fee circulars. In the field of student affairs and partnerships, students highlighted competition funding procedures, inter-student collaboration, and permits for arts and cultural events.

By creating a platform for transparent dialogue, the Faculty of Agriculture at UPNVY reaffirms its commitment to fostering an inclusive academic environment where student voices contribute to shaping a better future for the university community. (AN)
