The Faculty of Agriculture of UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta once again held its routine program, “Dekanat Menyapa”, which took place in the Faculty of Agriculture Seminar Room on Monday, 15 September 2025. The event was attended by all members of the Student Executive Board (BEM) and student organizations within the Faculty of Agriculture.
The session was directly led by Dr. Dwi Aulia Puspitaningrum, Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Cooperation (KAKS). The Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and the Heads of Departments were also present, demonstrating the faculty leadership’s full commitment to fostering open and effective communication with students.
In a warm and dialogic atmosphere, this session of “Dekanat Menyapa” covered several key points of mutual interest, including:
Feedback on Facilities Improvement
Students shared various concerns regarding supporting facilities for learning and organizational activities, such as the condition of classrooms, laboratories, activity spaces, Wi-Fi, and campus drainage systems that occasionally overflow. The dean’s office noted all feedback and outlined plans for phased improvements according to priority.
Competition Delegation Scheme
The discussion also addressed the scheme for sending student delegations to academic and non-academic competitions. The dean’s office encouraged increased student participation in national and international events and emphasized the importance of transparency in the selection process.
Academic Advising and Mentorship Scheme
Student expressed aspirations regarding the academic advising and mentorship system, which still requires refinement. The dean’s office welcomed this input and plans to evaluate the effectiveness of the academic advising program to better responds to student’s needs.
This activities serves as a strategic forum to convey aspirations, align perspectives, and formulate joint solutions between faculty leadership and students. The dean’s office emphasized that collaboration between faculty leaders and students is key to improving educational quality and fostering a conductive academic environment within the Faculty of Agriculture.
With a spirit of togetherness and openness, “Dekanat Menyapa” is expected to continue serving as an effective platform to strengthen the relationship between faculty leadership and students in realizing a shared vision: to become an outstanding, adaptive, and competitive Faculty of Agriculture. (AN)
